Der Hersteller von Wannenträgern und bodenebenen Duschplatzlösungen erzeugt das für die Fertigung seiner Formteile aus expandiertem Polystyrol (EPS) notwendige Vakuum heute mit einer ölgefluteten Schraubenvakuumpumpe von Atlas Copco.  Die neue drehzahlgeregelte GHS 1900 VSD+ mit einer Leistungsaufnahme von 37 kW ersetzt 15 Flüssigkeitsringpumpen mit Leistungen zwischen 4 und 5,5 kW. Allein durch die Drehzahlregelung und den Austausch der alten Pumpen spart Poresta rund 55 Prozent Energie im Vergleich zur früheren Lösung. Die Form ist ein in sich abgeschlossenes System, in das heißer Dampf eingeleitet wird. Dadurch beginnt das Material zu expandieren. Es versintert dann zu einem festen Körper. Nach einer Verweilzeit wird die Form wieder auf etwa 60 Grad Celsius gekühlt und auf 0,3 bar absolut evakuiert. Mit der Vakuumpumpe wird dem Prozess die Energie und Feuchtigkeit entzogen. ![Luftpost\_10\_2016\_Poresta\_Vakuumpumpe\_900px](https://info.atlascopco-kompressoren.de/hs-fs/hubfs/luftpost_Bilder/Luftpost_10_2016_Poresta_Vakuumpumpe_900px.jpg?width=900&name=Luftpost_10_2016_Poresta_Vakuumpumpe_900px.jpg) *Schrauben-Vakuumpumpe GHS 1900 VSD+ bei Poresta* Der hohe Wasseranteil im abgesaugten Gas ist der Grund dafür, dass in der EPS-Herstellung traditionell Flüssigkeitsringpumpen eingesetzt werden, die gegenüber Feuchtigkeit unempfindlich sind. Bis vor kurzem wurden in Bad Wildungen 22 dieser Pumpen in drei Stationen betrieben. Heute ersetzt die Schraubenvakuumpumpe bereits zwei Stationen mit 15 Pumpen. Dass der Umstieg auf diese wesentlich effizientere Technologie möglich wurde, ist dem intelligenten Temperaturmanagement der GHS-Pumpen sowie einer zusätzlichen Prozessgaskühlung vor der Vakuumpumpe zu verdanken. „Normalerweise würde der Wasserdampf in der Pumpe kondensieren, wenn ich ihn komprimiere“, erklärt Wolfgang Holtapel, Technischer Berater bei Atlas Copco. „Das ist für eine ölgeschmierte Pumpe problematisch.“ Aus diesem Grund durchläuft der abgesaugte Dampf zunächst einen Wärmetauscher, bevor er die Vakuumpumpe erreicht. Der Dampf kondensiert zu großen Teilen und kann dem Prozess in Form von Wasser entzogen werden. Parallel verkleinert sich das Dampfvolumen, und das erzeugt ein zusätzliches Vakuum, was die Effizienz des Gesamtprozesses steigert. Zwar kann die Feuchtigkeit nicht komplett eliminiert werden. Aber mit der neuen Technologie der GHS-Pumpen sind Anwender in der Lage, sehr hohe Wasserdampfanteile zu fahren. Die Pumpe wird durch ein Temperaturmanagement heiß gehalten, so dass es nicht zur Kondensation im Öl kommen kann.
