Der Venturi-Effekt beschreibt ein physikalisches Phänomen, bei dem eine Flüssigkeit oder ein Gas, wie zum Beispiel Druckluft, die Geschwindigkeit erhöht und seinen Druck verringert, sobald es durch einen engeren Abschnitt einer Druckluftleitung strömt. Jedoch ist auch die Planung der Druckluftleitung von hohem Belang, da eine Fehlplanung hier über die Jahre zu kostenschweren Folgen führen kann. Wenn man sich vor Augen führt, dass der Druckverlust von nur einem Bar in Druckluftsystemen die Energiekosten um 7-10 % erhöhen kann, wird schnell klar, warum dies so ist und welchen praktischen Mehrwert das Wissen um Phänomene, wie den Venturi-Effekt dadurch bekommt. Hier sind darüberhinaus einige wichtige Aspekte, die sie neben den Auswirkungen des Venturieffekts kennen sollten: - **Rohrdurchmesser**:  Ein zu kleiner Durchmesser kann zu hohen Strömungsgeschwindigkeiten und damit zu erhöhten Druckverlusten führen. - **Materialwahl**: Auch die Wahl des richtigen Materials sollte bei der Planung der Druckluftleitung berücksichtigt werden, um den Strömungswiderstand so gering wie möglich zu halten.  - **Verbindungsstellen**: An Verbindungsstellen bzw. Flanschen  und Ventilen kann es durch Verwirbelungen zusätzlich dazu kommen, die den Druckverlust zusätzlich erhöhen.
