Was umgangssprachlich als „Luft“ bezeichnet wird, ist in Wirklichkeit eine Mischung aus verschiedenen Gasen, darunter auch Wasserdampf. Während des Verdichtungsprozesses wird zwangsläufig Kondensat erzeugt. Die Menge hängt von verschiedenen Faktoren ab – darunter Lufttemperatur, Feuchtigkeit, Kompressorgröße und erforderlicher Druck. ![Design ohne Titel (9)](https://info.atlascopco-kompressoren.de/hs-fs/hubfs/Design%20ohne%20Titel%20(9).jpg?width=1920&name=Design%20ohne%20Titel%20(9).jpg) Zum Beispiel kann warme Luft mehr Feuchtigkeit als kalte Luft enthalten. Die Ursache für das Kondensat ist die Tatsache, dass bei der Verkleinerung des Luft-Volumens auch deren Kapazität für Wasserdampf abnimmt. Wenn ein Verdichter zum Beispiel mit 7 bar Überdruck läuft, reduziert das Gerät das Volumen der Luft um 12,5 %. Dabei entsteht eine entsprechende Menge Kondensat. Ein Wasserabscheider für Druckluftanlagen fängt dieses Wasser auf. ## Kondensat kann Ihre Druckluftanlage beschädigen Kondensat im Druckluftsystem oder sogar in den Druckluftleitungen ist ein Problem. Es kann einige schwerwiegende Folgen haben: - Rohrleitungen und Anlagen können korrodieren und be![\_600431](https://info.atlascopco-kompressoren.de/hs-fs/hubfs/_600431.jpg?width=267&name=_600431.jpg)schädigt werden, beispielsweise in Fertigungsstraßen. - Pneumatiksteuerungen können beschädigt werden, wodurch ganze nachgeschaltete Anlagen abgeschaltet bzw. heruntergefahren werden müssen. - Neben der Rostbildung kann das Kondensat auch das Schmiermittel in der gesamten Anlage abwaschen und so den Verschleiß erhöhen. - Die Qualität kann durch Verfärbungen und Mängel wie verminderte Lackhaftung beeinträchtigt werden. - Bei niedrigen Temperaturen können Teile der Anlage einfrieren, Steuerleitungen können dauerhaft beschädigt werden. All das führt zu einem Mehraufwand für die Wartung Ihres Druckluftinstallation und verkürzt die Lebensdauer Ihrer Anlage.    ## So funktioniert ein Kondensatableiter für Druckluftanlagen Neben Nachkühlern und verschiedenen Trocknern ist der Wasser- bzw. Kondensatableiter eine zuverlässige Lösung für das Problem mit Kondensat in Ihrer Anlage. Dazu gibt es drei gängige Verfahren: 1. **Schwimmertechnologie**: Das Kondensat wird in einem Behälter gesammelt und der Pegel steigt im Laufe der Zeit an. Mit dem Pegel steigt auch ein Schwimmer und sorgt so für die Ableitung des gesammelten Kondensats. Dieser Typ des Wasserabscheiders bietet zwar keine Überwachungsmöglichkeit, ist aber einfach und günstig. 2. **Zeitsteuerung**: Das Ventil am Kondensatbehälter wird in einem regelmäßigen, programmierbaren Intervall geöffnet. Diese Technik eignet sich auch für große Rohrquerschnitte, birgt jedoch Probleme bei schwankender Kondensatmengen. 3. **Elektroniksteuerung**: Die beste Lösung ist ein Kondensatableiter mit Sensor, der nach Erreichen eines Grenzwerts den Behälter leert. Diese Technik ist sicher und vermeidet Druckverluste, ist aber relativ teuer. ## Fazit der Kondensataufbereitung Bei der Planung Ihrer Druckluftanlage sollten Sie bereits vorab auf die Stellen achten, an denen sich Kondensat bilden wird, und diese mit entsprechenden Kondensatableitern ausstatten.
